Garfield County Court Clerk

Welcome to the Garfield County Court Clerk’s Office!

Janelle M. Sharp, the duly elected and qualified Court Clerk, and her staff strive to provide effective and efficient service for all court business and questions.

From territorial days to the beginnings of our county and continuing to today, the Garfield County Court Clerk's office is entrusted with maintaining the integrity of the records and disposition for all district court cases and statistics related to those cases. The majority of our records are open for public inspection. Additionally, in the last eight years, the court clerk has made all of the marriage records for Garfield County available for searching online. For the convenience of the public, we are continuing to scan and upload older probate and civil cases to make them accessible at OSCN.net.

The Garfield County Court Clerk’s office collects and accounts for all funds deposited in connection with court proceedings, including filing fees, statutory fines, fees and forfeitures. A portion of deposits collected by the clerk is a source of revenue for the courts’ operating budget. Expenditures include personnel for five (5) District, Associate and Special Judges; jurors and witness fees; public defender salaries; transcript purchases; printing of forms and postage; and finally, utilities, courtroom maintenance, furniture, equipment and general supplies. The balance of monies collected is sent to the State Judicial Fund for the operation of district courts throughout the state.

Other services provided by the Garfield County Court Clerk's office include marriage licenses and licensing of private process servers. More information on those services can be found on this site.
